That's right, I'm here to talk about the June Speed Scrap. For June, the speed scrap will be held at 8 p.m. Central/ 9 p.m. Eastern on June 16th in the FunkyPlaygroundDesigns chatroom (you must be logged in to the forums to see the chatroom). This month's participation prize is from Girl Boy Girl Designs. And one lucky participant will receive a $10 coupon from Sweet Tomato Designs. The June speed scrap is being co-hosted by Carole and myself. (I love hosting these!!)

Here's how it works. During the Speed Scrap, Cindy and I will also be posting the instructions in the forum. You will then have until 11:59 p.m. Central time on Sunday, June 19, 2011 (Sunday night) to post your layout in the Speed Scrap gallery here at FPD. Here are the specifics of the Funky Play Club Subscription:

With a subscription to The Funky Club - Volume Two, you will receive sixteen mini-kits, one per week from January 5 through April 20, 2011. These mini-kits will be designed on a rotating basis by: Girl Boy Girl Designs by Jen Balding, Amanda Carlson, River~Rose and Ruby Lane.

The contents of the mini-kits will be a surprise (much like a grab bag), but each mini-kit will contain at LEAST two papers and two elements. Additional items will vary from mini-to-mini and they may even include templates! All items in the mini-kits will be personal use products that will work in any photo editing program.

The subscription to The Funky Club - Volume Two costs just $10.00 - that's over $30.00 in savings off the individual selling price of the mini-kits. That averages out to about 62 cents per mini-kit!

The Funky Club Volume Two subscription will be available for purchase through April 20, 2011. After that date, the Funky Club Volume Two mini-kits will only be available as individual purchases at their regular selling price ($2.50-$3.50 each).

HOW THE SUBSCRIPTION WORKS

I just finished creating this hybrid notepad cover and had to share it with you. It was so quick and easy! That is what I love about digital hybrid crafting! I created the notepad cover using the Uniquities kit by Wild Blueberry Ink at owl tree studio. You have to check out the kits available there. I will caution you, it can be addictive! I also used a brad from Bo Bunny and ink from Ranger Distressed ink - Broken China.

So are you wondering where I have been? Yes, I know it has been a while since my last post. I have been busy working on some digital hybrid scrapping. I am also taking the Mouse, Paper, Scissors class with Jessica Sprague and Heidi Swapp. If you love digital hybrid, this is the class for you! It is so much fun and they have so much to offer! I just finished 2 digital hybrid cards for Diecuts with A View Digital. (300dpi.com) For the I Love You card, I used the Be Mine digital kit, Be Mine 2 digital kit, and the Be Mine solids digital paper pack. This weekend is the big Scrapbooking weekend in Auckland, NZ. Eidou has plenty of hybrid and digital products available for purchase. Louise has been working very hard creating both digital and hybrid layouts for each kit and will be there this weekend to help out with any questions you may have about digital scrapbooking. Scavenger Hunt!

Clue 1: Something new for every day of the week. Look for the place where you find Sunday Inspirations, the Queen of the Day, and tutorials on Tuesday to fin what you seek. Here you will find the first portion of the kit and your next clue, then you'll know what to do.

Now just as a little hint since this one is hard if you are not familiar with DPH, this is the only clue that does not lead to the store. Once you find part 1 everything else is in the store. Most designers have a clue hidden in their store and no designer will be used twice. If you get stuck try using our awesome search box in the store to search for key words from the clue.

Once you've found everything PM me with a list of each place you found a part of the mega kit and I'll send you a coupon for 35% off the store with the exception of Wednesday Happy Hours and my CU Grab Bag since both are on super sale already!

Feel free to hang out in the forum and chat about the clues, ask questions, check out our awesome challenges, and above all else have fun!

It has been a long time since I posted to my blog. Things have been extremely busy with family, summer break, and digital scrapping. I recently created this digital hybrid layout using the December digital add on kit along with her December add on kit. The snowflake was created using a page from the snowflake album that came with her kit. I painted Snow-Tex from Decoart on the snowflake let it dry and added the journal transparency.

Altered Gift Card Holder

I created this gift card holder using the Fancy Pants Happy Holidays collection, stampendous stamps, ribbon, gold cord, black ink pad, markers from Stampin’ Up!, small hole punch, liquid adhesive, ice stickles glitter glue, and adhesive runner. First I measured the front and back of the card holder, cut the pattern paper and then glued it down using adhesive.

I cut a sheet of pink paper, wadded it up using my hands and then inked the edges using a black ink pad. Then I created two ornaments to hang on the Happy Holidays tag on the front using a gold cord from Stampin’ Up! I stamped the images and colored them in using Markers from Stampin’ Up! I cut out the ornaments and added the Ice Stickles glitter glue.

I measured the inside of the gift card holder and the cut out for the gift card, I cut the pink patterned paper and glued it down using my adhesive.

After completing the outside cover and the inside of the gift card holder, I added some more pattern paper, ribbon, tree cutouts from one of the sheets of paper, and glued on some chipboard cutouts. It was a very simple project to complete.

I had to share my hybrid layout that I created using Jenn's Monster Mash Kit and Connie Prince's brag book template. I printed the papers I wanted from the kit, placed a photo in the brag book template, printed it, and then used some embellishments and ribbon to finish it off.

I recently posted an altered item on the shakerbox website and it actually won layout of the day and layout of the week. Well I couldn't help it, I had to find something else to alter.
